Lost Coast Art Colony Residency

Lost Coast Art Colony is an application-based residency held annually along the northwest coast of Puerto Rico, just beyond Quebradillas, nestled within a nature reserve of mountains, jungle, and ocean terrain. Selected artists spend two immersive weeks in this inspiring setting, residing in on-site apartments and working in a climate-controlled gallery space. The program provides accommodations, meals, ground transportation, and art supplies allowing artists to fully dedicate themselves to creative exploration.

During her time at Lost Coast, Andy Álvarez embraced the unique landscape as both subject and collaborator. The lush environment and the sound of the ocean became a living dialogue in her process, shaping works that reflect memory, cultural echoes, and the rhythms of Puerto Rican identity. The residency concluded with a public gallery exhibition, where her pieces connected the personal and the collective offering viewers an intimate glimpse of the island’s spirit through her lens.
